I am free

by new hope and happiness in

yes the title of my first post was a little negative " shatterd faith" and the truth is i dont feel like that at all.. its wonderful being in a state of not knowing as it makes hope possible.

and what i now learn i will learn from within and also enjoy doubt.. so why do i call this post " i am free"?

because i will no longer allow a tiny few control the direction of my life.

Its wonderful being in a state of not knowing as it makes hope possible. And what i now learn i will learn from within and also enjoy doubt.

So why do i call this post " i am free"? because i will no longer allow a tiny few control the direction of my life. ( be it the G.B or obident elders or friends with a different viewpoint)

So i feal no guilt and have no resentment that would be ridiculouse " for my freedoom is from all those that seeked to manipulate my mind, be it intentionally or not.

So what is the alternative. " i love you Mike" and i am glad to have found your freemind. I think we ate going to get along fine together.

O t w o. Thanks but giving up the W.T with its customs and teachings is no problem for me. Its an adventure, an awakening from a dream in to reality. My only concern is that i hope i am rememberd with smiles and laughter by the congregation and still accepted as a friend. As of today i think they are more disorintated by my leaving than i.

A student the questions i asked myself were " am i me? am i free? and i answerd myself in the negative.

lois wow you had real courage. Glad you found " new hope and happiness" because you comment inspired him!

crazyguy this may seem a crazy answer but i never saw it like that. I always thought how can there be any injustice in non existence.

ambition is not a dirty word

i can't decide if it is based on jealousy, class or the watchtower.

that shameful cult turned the word ambition into a dirty word.

it made the idea of self reliance and self worth a tainted thing.

Always ask your self this question when given advice " who wins" if i follow this advice?

Ambition is a " dirty word" to the W.T because they benifit if its members remain with out ambition.

Hooray for Apostasy against blunders and nincompoopery!

if you change religions by changing your mind and by moving on to something "better" then technically you are apostate.

consequently, unless you are born a jw you have to abandon another religion to become a jw.

so, being an apostate is a good thing if you abandon some other religion, but, if you abandon the jw's you are bad.

I think witnesses regard apostacy as the breaking of the oath of your baptisam in to the organisation.

Terry you used the word " constipated" in one of your earlier posts and i think this word well describes the mind of a dedicated witness. Because to a dedicated witness the organisation" is praised with all a members life. So " constipated" clarifies the state of aa dedicated witnesses thinking mind..

But they are also entiltled to there understanding of the word " Apostacy".The only problem is its not there understanding its the societies interpretation of the word. And the power of the interpretation of that word " apostacy"is that it creates pure hatred and even fear in to the dedicated witness.

matthew 6:14-15new revised standard version (nrsv).

14 for if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly father will also forgive you; 15 but if you do not forgive others, neither will your father forgive your trespasses.. .

at least on a superficial interpersonal level the above scripture requires the victim to forgive the offender in order to be forgiven in turn.

I think holding resemtment and not forgiving some ome who has "tresspassed" against me is only hurting myself. Of course for imperfect me this is easier said than done.I also think that some "tresspasses" would be impossible for me to forgive, even if i am only hurting myself.

I must say iMatthwe 6 14-15 doesnt make a lot of scence to me.

I think what really opened my eyes was i came to realize the congregation was united in knowledge but not in love. At first i noticed it with the elders but then i saw there was a lack of respect by the congrgation in general to any who were " different" and friendships were dropped if knowledge was not shared.

In a polite way i came to see the congregation as a pack of wolves.

thanks for the welcome.

I am here because of the diversity of opinion on this board and wealth of knowledge.Much of which i appreciatehas been obtained at great cost ie the losses of all who were once held dear, mother, father, sisters and brothers and extended friends.

My faith in God has been shatterd hence the title of this post and yet having read other topics i see many members here have survived with there faith in-tack. I am happy i survived with my sence of humor and not bitterness.
